In an unprecedented event, a group of Confederacy of Independent Systems dissidents have joined the Eternal Empire Legions to form a new front: the Goratak Vanguard.

The story of their defection is one of betrayal, resilience, and the search for a cause worth fighting for. It begins on Goratak, a system that became a utopia under the management of Garavel Fortuna and Kuravel Rendroy Basili. The people thrived under their leadership. Cities were built. Economies flourished. A future was forged. But the CIS leadership was reluctant to embrace their success.

When the war against the underworld erupted, this crew fought fiercely against the forces of the Shadow Dominion on multiple occasions. Their skill as pilots and commanders caught the attention of everyone involved in those battles. They rose through the ranks, earning respect and recognition.

Then came Khuiumin…

The battle that would change everything. Despite having assisted the war efforts against the Shadow Dominion on multiple occasions, Garavel and his people warned the CIS leadership that their focus should remain on Goratak development, their home system. They had invested everything into that world. They would not abandon it.

The CIS Triumvirate’s rage was immediate and absolute. They ordered Garavel’s people to go to Khuiumin to fight the infamous Son-Tuul Pride, against his command. When they refused, paranoia erupted. The leadership of the CIS started accusing them of working with Bork Shalas, the then Khagan of the Pride. The accusations were baseless. The accusations were false. But they served a purpose: to destroy those who dared to think independently.

The final straw came when all Garavel asked for was autonomy over their home system. Their request was met with fury. Their access was removed. They were mistreated. Their privileges stripped. All their assets were seized. They were betrayed by the very government they had served. And a manhunt began.

Months passed. Garavel and his people wandered the galaxy, seeking a way forward. They had lost everything. Their homes. Their resources. Their hope. Then they approached the Eternal Empire, seeking construction work to rebuild their lives.

Instead, they found a fighting chance…

The Eternal Armada — the instrument of the Empire’s will

The Eternal Throne offered them what others could not. A chance to fight once again. Now for an ideal. The Eternal Defiance. The Liberation of Goratak. They have now been integrated into the Legions of the Eternal Empire and will fight alongside Eternal Imperial forces for the hope of ever returning their system to their rightful owners.

The CIS and the Hydian Expanse mistakenly believe that after Khuiumin they have leverage over the Eternal Empire. They think they can demand reparations from us. They think they have broken us. What they fail to understand is that even then, they were outmaneuvered. While our advance was stopped, we emerged more resourceful than before. More than thirty factions fought against us at Khuiumin, and that experience has given them a false sense of superiority. They forget that they are just part of a broken mob that keeps reducing every day. Allies abandon them. Their ranks shrink. What will they do when they face the might of our armadas alone?

The Goratak Vanguard is now a part of the Eternal Legions. Their pilots are among the best in the galaxy. Their determination is unbreakable. Their cause is just. And they will not rest until their home is free.

While the galaxy embraces the inevitable rise of the Eternal Empire to legitimacy, the Hydian Expanse keeps planting the seeds of their own demise under a fruitless war and false ideas. They believe they can isolate us. They believe they can destroy us. They are wrong.

The war turned cold for the CIS. But for the Eternal Empire, it has just become personal.
