About Whitechapel -

Whitechapel is a city on Ord Cantrell with a dark and tumultuous past. The city was the second attempt to establish a colony on the planet, and the environment proved harsh and unforgiving compared to the thriving Bartertown. The colonists struggled to survive due to a lack of natural resources, which led to a breakdown in order and eventually, the city became overrun by gangs.

Despite several attempts to pacify or assimilate the rebellious city, the gangs grew, and the city descended into chaos. The situation became so bad that the city was considered a lost cause and was left to fend for itself. This would prove to be a fatal mistake when a savage warlord made Whitechapel his base of operations, preying on innocent citizens and merchants downstream.

The warlord ruled Whitechapel until he mysteriously disappeared during a routine recruitment run in Hutt Space. A month later, an enigmatic Kiffar appeared in-system and took over as the city’s new ruler.

Today, Whitechapel is considered the most dangerous city on Ord Cantrell. However, thanks to the efforts of the Governor and the Guildmistress, a tenuous alliance has been established between the feral gangs and Artemis’ Clan-backed gangs, which has allowed for an armistice in the city. Intercontinental trade has resumed for the first time in decades, and the future of the city seems more attainable than ever before.

Despite its troubled past, Whitechapel is home to a diverse population of people from all walks of life. The city is known for its sprawling slums and makeshift markets, where anything can be bought or sold for the right price. The city is also home to a growing number of artisans and craftsmen, who have managed to eke out a living despite the difficult conditions. Whitechapel may be dangerous and volatile, but for those brave enough to venture into its streets, it is a city full of opportunity and adventure.

Whitechapel Citadel

The Whitechapel Citadel is a large and imposing structure that dominates the skyline of the city. It is a fortress-like building that was originally constructed by the Grand Republic during the early days of colonization. It was meant to serve as a military stronghold and a central command center for the colony’s defense. However, due to the harsh conditions and lack of resources, the Citadel was never fully completed and was eventually abandoned.

During the dark years of gang rule, the Citadel was used as a base of operations for the most powerful of the city’s gangs. It was fortified and turned into a heavily guarded fortress, with walls reinforced with metal plates salvaged from derelict ships and makeshift barricades made from salvaged materials. Inside the Citadel, the gang leaders held court and made plans for their nefarious activities.

When the Governor and Guildmistress of Ord Cantrell took control of the city and brokered a truce between the warring gangs, they saw the potential in the abandoned Citadel. With the help of the newly formed Whitechapel Guard, they began to clear out the gangs and reclaim the Citadel for the good of the city.

Today, the Whitechapel Citadel serves as a symbol of hope for the citizens of the city. It has been fully restored and now houses the headquarters of the Whitechapel Guard, the city’s police force. The walls have been strengthened and the interior has been refurbished, with new barracks, armories, and training grounds. The Citadel serves as a reminder of the resilience and determination of the people of Whitechapel, who have overcome adversity and rebuilt their city.
