Echo of Antiquity

April 29, 2026

After the discovery of the Khuiumin system, a sudden surge of excitement spread among the population of the Total Outer Rim planets. Explorers, scientists, biologists, pioneers, and traders began carefully studying galactic maps and analyzing gravitational anomalies across all known sectors. The Central Archive of the Capital planet Yunkor I was overflowing with those eager to join the search for new systems. Intelligent beings had never been so united by the shared spirit of discovery. The boldest ventured into Deep Space, but without proper preparation, such explorers often fell prey to space pirates, necessitating the deployment of battle fleets to rescue these unfortunate pilots.

One of the many Yunkor I Grand Archive chambers

Eventually, the government decided to establish the Exploration Corps  Космофлот, where anyone wishing to participate in the search for new worlds would receive well-equipped ships and basic combat training. Among the enthusiasts who joined the Космофлот, the renowned Jedi Opqrs Ski stood out. While studying galactic charts, he noticed clear signs of unaccounted-for gravitational pull in the Zoraster sector affecting the Dodz system. Such influence could have been caused by a rogue black hole drifting in from another galaxy, or an ultra-dense ring of asteroid fields at the edge of our galaxy of which there are many in those regions.

Nevertheless, the evidence of something unusual in the sector was so strong that, at the governmental level, it was decided to consult ancient star charts, open the Essential Atlas, review captains’ logs from historical exploration vessels, and determine whether ancient explorers had recorded similar phenomena. To their surprise, archival records surfaced almost immediately — preserved within the logs of Jesfa, captain of an ancient trading vessel once operated by the Rego Mineral Company. The logs described a mineral-rich planet, Altor 14, orbiting the twin stars Roti and Ow in the Zoraster sector. Scouts were dispatched to the recovered coordinates, but the system could not be located. However, scout ship sensors detected an extremely unusual gravitational anomaly—like a vortex twisting everything in reverse. Jedi who arrived at the site recorded a powerful disturbance in the Force, dark as an absolute abyss. What had transpired there defied all explanation.

A temporal rupture

Thorrium Mulvad, the only Jedi strong enough to approach the epicenter of the disturbance, described it as a temporal rupture — a gradient of time devouring reality and reverting it to a distant antiquity. At one point, the Jedi noticed that he himself began to physically change — growing younger and immediately withdrew his ship to avoid regressing further into a primitive state and perishing. With combined efforts of the Jedi, the rift in time-space was closed. Based on data collected from the gravitational anomaly, additional calculations were conducted, predicting the location of the Altor system, thrown out of its original coordinates by this phenomenon. Within days, the system was found by Rogue Squadron fighter ace Cammy Davies. After arrival of the main fleet, a grand diplomatic mission led by Memnoch landed on Altor 14, expecting to make first contact with the races Avogwi and Nuiwit mentioned in the captain’s log. However, they found absolutely no signs of intelligent life.

Altor 14 appeared to exist in a state of primordial harmony. Massive reptiles roamed and devoured one another, while enormous birds behaved in much the same way. Life flourished in remarkable diversity. Almost immediately, suspicions arose that the Force anomaly and the planet’s primitive state were connected—and that the Avogwi and Nuiwit had not disappeared. They had simply not yet come into existence. A strict quarantine was imposed on the planet, along with a ban on the development of industrial infrastructure. A small, concealed research outpost was established, tasked with attempting to accelerate the evolutionary processes of the ancestors of the Avogwi and Nuiwit and restore these species to existence.

Concealed research outpost

This discovery concludes the account of a system that had been hidden from intelligent beings for years. Many had flown past this remarkable system. Some had even placed space stations nearby, yet none had paid attention to its existence. Data upload to Galactic Cartography Office will be finished on Day 156, and the new system will be unveiled to the public. With this announcement comes a decree: the system is under protectorate of Total Outer Rim, all attempts to land on Altor 14 are strictly forbidden. The hunting of any native fauna will be treated as the killing of intelligent life and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law across all Total Outer Rim and Rogue Squadron territories.

From this moment forward, Altor 14 is designated a sanctuary of life and will be so until the galaxy sees Avogwi and Nuiwit again.

The future?
