Coruscant (INB) – Vizier Vyna Shadows delivered an address earlier this week aimed at the so-called New Republic, exposing what he described as a collapsing coalition consumed by corruption, coercion, and internal decay. Vizier Shadows dismissed the Republic’s claims of unity and restoration as manufactured illusions designed to conceal growing instability within its leadership.
“For years they sold the galaxy a fantasy,” Shadows declared. “They called themselves liberators. They called themselves protectors. But what now stands before the galaxy is the corpse of a fractured coalition. Barely being held together through fear, manipulation, and desperation, its flesh merely the construct of corruption and political disease.”
Shadows directly named Chief of State Jonas Kanuteau as the central architect behind the Republic’s deterioration, accusing the man of consolidating authority while dismantling the very coalition they claimed to preserve.

“They do not govern through strength,” he stated. “They govern through control. Every ally beneath them exists only so long as they remain useful to the ambitions of those at the top.”
According to Shadows, the consequences of his leadership have already become impossible to conceal. Following catastrophic losses tied to the failed Restored Empire venture and the financial disaster surrounding Hatori Hoorl, Republic leadership has increasingly turned against its own allies in an effort to recover lost influence and resources.
The Vizier turned his attention toward the Republic’s expanding distribution and sale of advanced military assets, including the RZ-1 A-wing Interceptor, calling the practice “a desperate attempt to purchase influence”, generally at the expense of the very allies who sustained them through years of conflict who now have little incentive to support them at all.
“For years,” Shadows declared, “their allies fought, bled, and sacrificed beside them under the illusion that loyalty and commitment still held value within the Republic. Those same allies were forced to claw endlessly for even limited access to Republic military technology, treated as expendable outsiders despite years of service.”
“And now?” he continued. “The Republic scatters its most prized assets across the galaxy for political leverage and scraps of profit. Technology once portrayed as vital to joint security is suddenly distributed wherever it serves the ambitions of those in power.” Shadows argued that the issue extended far beyond military sales, accusing Republic leadership of using Datacards and restricted technology access as instruments of control designed to enforce obedience across their coalition.
“This was never about trust or partnership,” Shadows stated. “Access was used as a leash. Their allies will soon be expected to surrender independence, submit to political pressure, and prove loyalty repeatedly, all for the privilege of receiving what Republic leadership now hands out whenever it becomes convenient.” He described the Republic’s actions as proof that loyalty within its ranks was never rewarded through sacrifice or loyalty, but controlled through favoritism and selective access.“They do not build alliances,” Shadows declared. “They build dependency. Those willing to kneel are rewarded. Those unwilling to submit are isolated, restricted, and discarded.”
According to intercepted communications, New Republic Minister of Intelligence Caisava Chelski openly reinforced the Republic’s culture of coercion and political dependency. In one exchange attributed to Chelski, she reportedly stated: “Loyalty is not proven in words, it is measured in action to our requests.” In a separate communication, She warned another Rebel leader: “We are already within your ranks. Whether we remain unseen or step into the light depends entirely on your decisions.”
Shadows argued that the statements stripped away any remaining illusion surrounding the Republic’s methods, exposing the organization that now relies on surveillance, infiltration, and intimidation to maintain control over both its allies and its own membership. “This is the reality behind their promises of unity,” Shadows declared. “A system where trust is replaced with leverage, where loyalty is demanded through threats, and where fear is used to keep entire organizations obedient.”

“They no longer inspire loyalty,” Shadows stated. “They enforce obedience. Through infiltration. Through intimidation. Through the constant threat that anyone who refuses to submit will be isolated, undermined, and eventually discarded.” This is evident in the Republic’s treatment of internal dissent, with Shadows specifically referencing the arrest of former Minister of State Coren Rinou after he publicly criticized senior Republic leadership.
“When one of their own officials questioned the direction of the Republic,” Shadows stated, “their response was not dialogue, transparency, or accountability. Their response was silence and removal.” Shadows argued that Rinou’s removal exposed the Republic’s true response to opposition, not discussion, not reform, but intimidation and consolidation.
“The message was unmistakable,” Shadows declared. “Speak against those in power, challenge their authority, refuse to fall in line, and you will be targeted.” He further described the incident as evidence that fear now governs the Republic from within, creating an environment where even senior officials are forced into silence to protect themselves from political retaliation.
There is one thing increasingly clear for those “opposed” to the Empire and the Imperial Union. That the longer the enemies of the Union rally around the Republic the more likely they will become an Empire of their own.
