The recent discovery of the Altor system, and its subsequent designation as a primary recreational zone drew immediately eager scientists from across the Outer Rim to the Zoraster sector. Driven by curiosity, but also by concern for the missing Avogwi and Nuiwit races, the scientists sought to investigate the reasons for their mysterious disappearance. These efforts were abruptly interrupted, however, when the peaceful system was attacked, for unimaginable reasons and without any warning, by Imperial Union (IU) battle fleets—comprising Havoc Squad, the Faerytail Family, and the Chiss Ascendancy.

In the first few days after their arrival, IU forces deployed combat squadrons to cut the peaceful scientists off from their satellite communications network. This deprived the scientists of access to vital research resources in galactic libraries and databases, but had far graver impact on the newly colonized system. It impaired the entire system’s access to entertainment services like Tubeflix and the scientists’ communication with their families on distant worlds. The IU campaign against the scientists’ satellite communications was so relentless, that an aggressing Havoc rookie pilot apparently fell asleep at the controls of his spacecraft. When his Delta-class JV-7 Escort Shuttle squadron was discovered by Космофлот repair teams restoring communications, the enraged repair engineers reduced the IU aggressor’s ships to scrap and transported them to Altor 13 for recycling and return to the system circular economy.

As the IU forces continued waging war against the Altorian satellite network the upcoming day, the Total Outer Rim (TOR), as the protector of the local research colony, was forced to deploy a nearby battle fleet of its own in response: On Day 161, Total Outer Rim and Космофлот Forces successfully sprung a trap for Havoc leader Samux Marus, ambushing his Kaloth-class Battlecruiser and forcing it off the field. Analysts later noted that Marus focus on ship communications, including the intelligibility of his pronunciation of galactic basic, rather than tactical positioning and fire solutions, may have given Total Outer Rim a significant combat advantage early on.
With Marus Kaloth-class no longer in action, the remaining Havoc and Fairytail forces seemingly fell into disarray, while the Chiss forces refused to attack Космофлот’s defense fleet at all. The TOR forces shred their IU opponents’ fleet, disabling and boarding several TIE/in Interceptors. Faerytail Family made a desperate attempt to regain balance. The distraught IU fleet could not prevent the capture of some of these ships. The futility was so obvious; even a mighty Kaloth-class Battlecruiser, under the command of Shas’o Cho, simply floated idly in space, while two IU pilots, Brian Almeida and Rhan Komo, were offered temporary hospitality as their ships were taken prize by the repair engineer teams. However, force attuned members among both, TOR and Altor repair engineer teams, felt a disturbance in the force upon rescuing them off their wreckage. After a brief but candid exchange, both IU pilots were released and with best wishes, in accordance with galactic customs and standards. The captured TIE/in Interceptors will be put on display at the central orbital Космофлот museum in Yunkor system.

Notably, TOR lost few Toscan fighter craft to the superior Imperial war technology in this fierce space battle. Analysts believe this to be a change in military doctrine for Rogue Squadron (RS) and TOR, long standing New Republican (NR) allies, with future implications unknown. The New Republic is widely regarded as the greatest threat to the Galactic Empire and therefore also to the Imperial Union. A spokesperson for RS commented that the recent release of NR-protected technology to the wider galactic market with the aim of generating profit not only endangers RS and TOR, but also all other NR allies and consequently the entire free galaxy. Hence, the uncertainty brought about by initial decisions of the re-establishment of the NR could prove increasingly difficult in the face of imperial oppression.
As for Altor system, IU fleets show no sign of leaving and will likely continue damaging communication satellites. The Altorian community pleads the aggressing forces to stop their erratic aggression on their peaceful system. TOR however, has stated that a second battle fleet is already dispatched and the installation of the system defences are nearing completion. Under such conditions, analysts believe future attacks on the system will become increasingly difficult.
“The Imperial Union is known for its endless search for rebel terrorists across the galaxy. Sometimes, it helps to look in the mirror and realize that what you’re searching for is yourself.”
