Year 26, Day 237
A skirmish erupted this week in the system of Serocco after the Son-Tuul Pride, a member of the criminal entity known as the Shadow Dominion, launched an attack on Czerka Corporation.
Head of State Dex Sehrin overseeing military operations
Despite claims made by elements within the criminal entity that the Confederacy have engaged in peace-keeping operations within Serocco, a Confederate spokesperson issued a statement following the engagement: “The Confederacy will not tolerate attacks on its partners. Our intervention in Serocco was a direct response to an assault on Czerka Corporation — nothing more.” The official went on to clarify that Serocco itself holds no strategic or political value to the CIS.
Meanwhile the Antarian Rangers and Mandalore have also been involved in the skirmish, attacking STP forces, when asked if there had been a coordinated response with the two groups, the official responded “There has been no communication between the Confederacy and Mandalore. It is no secret that diplomatic relations between our two governments are as cold as the tundras of Csilla, to think otherwise shows how poorly informed those people are.” The CIS have confirmed that joint operations are “unlikely” under current circumstances.
CIS High Command watching the skirmish unfold
Whilst Son-Tuul have managed to claim small victories against Mandalore and others, they have only claimed minor wins against the CIS. After days of probing the Separatist lines, Son-Tuul and others attempted to launch a strong attack against the Confederacy utilizing JV-7 Delta gunboats, Consular Corvettes and Toscans against ATR-6, BTL Y-Wing and CIS’ own Toscans that the Confederacy have deployed to the system forcing STP and its allies to retreat several times. Up until hours ago STP forces have actively avoided conflict with the Confederacy, choosing instead to fight Mandalore after Separatist patrols have left the system as a way to maintain the illusion of victories.
In an effort to try and maintain the image of superiority, Son-Tuul and the fallen leader of Zann, Ximaro have attempted to push a propaganda approach, using wild speculations and drug induced fantasies to try and keep the morale of their forces high, despite their forces being constantly pushed back. Asked about the recent news stories circulating the lesser known parts of the holonet, the government had very little to say on the matter, saying “It’s interesting that Ximaro is personally bragging about successes that are not his own, co-opting the more strategic mind of STP as if they were his own personal victories. When the Blackstar Raiders entered the fight, they quickly ran away when our military consistently showed superiority. He has reduced himself to a lizard crying out to the stars, wishing to remain relevant when in reality, most governments have recognized that he no longer is the leader he once was and instead see Bork as the inheritor of their criminal enterprise. The claims he has made have been so wildly inaccurate and factually incorrect that it’s amazing he has any credibility at all.”
For now, Separatist forces remain in the Ploo Sector for as long as necessary to support Czerka, travellers to the system are advised to remain vigilant against any form of piracy.
