Batiiv Return Across Three Systems Culminates in Pirate Nation Declaration<\/h2>\n

The Eyttyrmin Batiiv Pirates have reemerged in active conflict zones across the galaxy, marking their first major public operations since separating from Shadow Dominion and resuming independent operations.<\/p>\n

Across a rapid campaign spanning Serroco, Petabys, and Derra, the Pirates conducted a series of operations before culminating in the announcement of a new alliance of independent powers.<\/p>\n

The campaign has drawn widespread attention not only for its tactical impact, but for the increasingly difficult task of interpreting Captain Krodo Rask. Military analysts remain divided on whether Rask is exceptionally cunning or simply the galaxy\u2019s luckiest pirate. Rask himself has offered little help in resolving the question.<\/p>\n

\n

Serroco<\/h2>\n

The first confirmed operation occurred in the Serroco system during an active engagement involving The Pentastar Alignment, The Restored Empire, and The Antarian Rangers.<\/p>\n

According to battlefield observers, Batiiv forces entered the battlespace as a Pentastar bomber squadron moved into attack position against a Restored Empire Sabaoth Destroyer. The Pirates deployed R-41 fighter squadrons, intercepted the bombers, and destroyed the attacking force before withdrawing almost immediately.<\/p>\n

The intervention sparked immediate speculation.<\/p>\n

Some analysts pointed to the Pirates\u2019 longstanding hostility with The Pentastar Alignment, including prior incidents in which Batiiv forces captured and held Pentastar vessels for ransom. Others argued that explanation alone failed to account for the broader political context.<\/p>\n

Both The Restored Empire and The Antarian Rangers previously stood among the forces opposing Rask and his allies during the Battle of Khuiumin, one of the most significant engagements in recent Batiiv history. The decision to engage Pentastar bombers, thereby benefiting both TRE and TAR, has therefore proven difficult to interpret.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey didn\u2019t help friends. They didn\u2019t help enemies. They changed the board and left.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Dante Erinith of The Restored Empire offered a similarly bewildered account, saying the Pirates \u201cjust turned up, blew away a bunch of Pentastar ships, then disappeared like fine mist.\u201d<\/p>\n

When asked about the operation, Rask offered little clarification. Witnesses described him as possessing the loose composure of a man whose evening had progressed somewhat faster than everyone else\u2019s.<\/p>\n

Rask said only that there had been \u201ca battle\u201d and that the bombers were \u201cpointed somewhere inconvenient,\u201d later clarifying that they were pointed \u201cmostly at people who were still talking.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSeemed rude not to intervene.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cI try to maintain standards.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Witnesses also reported that Rask later muttered a single additional word, \u201cwolverines,\u201d without elaboration.<\/p>\n

Asked whether the operation signaled changing relations with TRE or TAR, Rask dismissed the premise.<\/p>\n

Batiiv forces departed Serroco shortly thereafter.<\/p>\n

Petabys<\/h2>\n

Batiiv activity next surfaced in the Petabys system.<\/p>\n

Upon arrival, Pirate forces encountered a Pentastar Alignment sensor network consisting of four satellites guarded by sixteen Vulture droid fighters. Batiiv ships destroyed the Vulture screen before destroying all four satellites, collapsing the network.<\/p>\n

The Pirates then disabled and boarded nearby cargo containers in search of valuables.<\/p>\n

Among the recovered items were several hats reportedly belonging to Dane Star.<\/p>\n

The hats quickly became a subject of intense discussion for reasons unrelated to military or economic value.<\/p>\n

Sources familiar with the boarding operation said Captain Rask expressed immediate concern regarding the quality of the recovered headwear and is reportedly considering returning the hats to their owner.<\/p>\n

Witnesses reported that Rask appeared to be engaging with events from a perspective slightly detached from conventional chronology.<\/p>\n

Asked about the destruction of the sensor network, Rask remarked that sensors were useful, though \u201cless useful when they belong to someone else and are looking at you.\u201d<\/p>\n

His assessment of the seized cargo proved less diplomatic. Rask described the hats as \u201cconcerning,\u201d adding only:<\/p>\n

\u201cI have concerns. Several.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He later indicated the hats may be returned.<\/p>\n

\u201cOut of principle.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He then added:<\/p>\n

Batiiv forces departed Petabys shortly after securing the cargo containers and concluding boarding operations.<\/p>\n

With the Pentastar sensor network destroyed and cargo loaded, the Pirates continued toward Derra.<\/p>\n

Derra<\/h2>\n

The combined Batiiv and Syndicate flotilla holds formation over Derra IV.<\/div>\n

Batiiv operations later extended to the Derra system, where the group was joined by The Obsidian Syndicate under the leadership of Tel von Sydow.<\/p>\n

The joint deployment drew immediate attention.<\/p>\n

Von Sydow previously served as a ranking officer within the Eyttyrmin Batiiv Pirates under Captain Krodo Rask. His departure from the organization remains one of the most discussed fractures in Batiiv history.<\/p>\n

Following his departure, von Sydow joined The Restored Empire before later moving to Tusk Brothers Trading. He left that organization only recently to establish The Obsidian Syndicate.<\/p>\n

Although von Sydow had left TRE before the Battle of Khuiumin, his association with the government remained notable, particularly after TRE later emerged among the forces opposing the Batiiv during that campaign.<\/p>\n

Analysts widely viewed the reunion between Rask and von Sydow as politically significant.<\/p>\n

One military analyst said the two leaders had spent years moving in different directions, different organizations, different loyalties, and different banners, and that seeing them side by side again \u201cshould concern anyone paying attention.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Derra, the Batiiv and the Syndicate established a combined flotilla around Derra IV and began conducting coordinated battle drills focused on interdiction, vector denial, and response timing.<\/p>\n

Observers noted that Captain Rask appeared to be operating from an altitude not immediately accessible to others present.<\/p>\n

During one such exercise, a pair of Fury-class Interceptor corvettes operating under Antarian Rangers registration departed Derra IV and proceeded directly toward the combined flotilla.<\/p>\n

The corvettes made no attempt to alter course, reduce speed, or acknowledge the blockade, instead continuing directly through the assembled pirate formation.<\/p>\n

Asked for his assessment, Rask reportedly concluded that the lead captain was either \u201cstill tucked into his sleeping quarters\u201d or possessed \u201ca serious set of balls,\u201d later clarifying that there was \u201cvery little in between.\u201d<\/p>\n

For reasons neither side later explained in strictly tactical terms, neither the Batiiv nor the Syndicate engaged the corvettes.<\/p>\n

When pressed on the decision, Rask offered a rationale that analysts described as characteristically difficult to categorize.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter blowing up Pentastar ships while they were trying to kill Rangers at Serroco, it felt rude to prey on a Ranger pilot asleep at the helm.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The corvettes passed through the flotilla without incident.<\/p>\n

When asked whether recent events suggested improving relations between the Batiiv and the Antarian Rangers, Rask declined to offer a direct answer.<\/p>\n

\u201cRoll a chance cube. That\u2019s what I do.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Later in the operation, a Fang-class Starfighter and a Brayl-class Bulk Freighter arrived near the outer boundary of the system. The Fang departed almost immediately, leaving the freighter behind.<\/p>\n

The combined flotilla moved quickly to intercept, engage, and disable the Brayl.<\/p>\n

Rask personally boarded the disabled freighter. According to those present, the vessel contained neither cargo nor passengers.<\/p>\n

Rask subsequently ordered an Eyttyrmin Batiiv flag placed in the cockpit.<\/p>\n

Asked about the decision, he offered a brief explanation.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was empty. Felt wrong to leave it that way.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The freighter was left disabled at the system boundary.<\/p>\n

When asked whether the flag constituted a salvage claim, a warning, or a message, Rask rejected all three interpretations.<\/p>\n

\u201cInterior design.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

With battle drills concluded and no further major engagements reported, the combined flotilla later withdrew from Derra.<\/p>\n

Pirate Nation<\/h2>\n

Following operations at Derra, Rask and von Sydow issued a joint broadcast announcing the formation of Pirate Nation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The appearance drew significant attention given the history between the two leaders. Rask opened by acknowledging widespread surprise at seeing the two together.<\/p>\n

\u201cSurprised too, which feels fair.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Witnesses described Rask as composed, deliberate, and carrying the confidence of a man whose worst ideas had developed an unsettling habit of succeeding.<\/p>\n

Von Sydow then addressed the broader galaxy, framing Pirate Nation as a sovereign coalition designed to offer independent powers an alternative to submission or isolation.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor too long,\u201d von Sydow said, \u201cindependent powers have faced the same false choice: submit to larger powers, or remain isolated and vulnerable.\u201d<\/p>\n

He described Pirate Nation as a strategic and economic compact built around mutual defense, intelligence sharing, secure harbor, and coordinated opportunity. Pirate Nation, he argued, offered another path, one where sovereign powers could gain strength through cooperation without surrendering their flag, fleet, territory, or identity.<\/p>\n

Von Sydow characterized the coalition in starkly pragmatic terms.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis nation was not founded to create rulers.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cIt was founded to create leverage.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He concluded by extending an invitation to the broader galaxy, stating that Pirate Nation was prepared to engage with pirates, smugglers, syndicates, cartels, mercenary companies, corporations, and governments alike wherever interests aligned and profit existed.<\/p>\n

Rask then summarized the alliance in characteristically direct terms.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo kings. No crowns. No overlords.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He described Pirate Nation\u2019s relationship with the galaxy as straightforward and transactional.<\/p>\n

\u201cJoin Pirate Nation. Trade with Pirate Nation. Hire Pirate Nation. Fight Pirate Nation, if you feel strongly about poor decisions.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

He then delivered the line that has quickly become the defining phrase of the broadcast.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe prefer credits.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Rask concluded with a final remark that may best summarize both the coalition and the uncertainty surrounding it.<\/p>\n

\u201cEither way, you\u2019ll be dealing with Pirate Nation.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Whether Pirate Nation becomes a durable coalition or merely Captain Krodo Rask\u2019s latest improbable gamble remains unclear.<\/p>\n

What is increasingly difficult to deny, however, is that the Eyttyrmin Batiiv Pirates are no longer operating alone.<\/p>\n

Across the Outer Rim, powers large and small are now watching closely.<\/p>\n
