As the signal gains strength and the static reduces, voices may be heard.\u00a0 A male human voice says:
\n“Kuro, transmitters are warming up and we are starting the broadcast.”
\nThe reply is from a voice with vowel sounds that change between a deep cat-like purr and soft growl:
\n“George, dial up holo-chapel number four for me, I’ll use that background today.”
\nThe human replies:
\n“Kuro, how about number one, or one of the newer ones?”
\nThe feline voice says:
\n“No George, number one was rubbish, and so are the new ones.\u00a0 I prefer the original.”<\/p>\n

The signal becomes stronger and an image of a humanoid cat-like creature appears.<\/p>\n

\"Image<\/p>\n

The creature takes a deep breath and speaks:<\/p>\n

“Hark, ye faithful souls of Ara’s creed,
\nAnd all others who heed this message, take heed:
\nI am, Kuro Neko, Steward true,
\nOf Alissma’s realm, and Ara’s due.<\/p>\n

“As Ruetsavii’s priest, I come to thee,
\nWith words of solace, grace, and glee.
\nIn Alissma’s name, I bid thee well,
\nIn this cosmic dance where destinies swell.<\/p>\n

“In yonder realm of the celestial dome,
\nSecular shifts doth stir the galaxy’s roam,
\nYet in the bosom of Alissma’s fold,
\nWe keep our faith, our spirits bold.<\/p>\n

“I stand afore thee this blessed day,
\nTo assure thee, in words of fervent sway,
\nThat as Alissma tends thy holy shrines,
\nThy spiritual havens shall ever shine.<\/p>\n

“If Alissma doth manage thy holy halls,
\nNo shift shall mar thee, as fortune calls.
\nThy coffers shan’t dwindle, thy revenues true,
\nUnder Alissma’s management, still accrue.<\/p>\n

“Fear not, dear souls, in this turbulent tide,
\nFor Alissma’s light shall be your guide.
\nThough worldly winds may fiercely blow,
\nOur devotion to Ara shall e’er glow.”<\/p>\n

The speaker, Kuro Neko, pauses and looks down at his script.<\/p>\n

Kuro Neko raises his right paw and says:<\/p>\n

“The sign of Ara”<\/p>\n

With his paw Kuro Neko draws a vertical line in the air, then moves up and slightly to the right, then across horizontally, makes a little half-circle, moves up vertically, and then makes another quarter-circle with a half-twist.<\/p>\n

As the broadcast fades, Kuro Neko says:<\/p>\n

“May the Grace of Ara go with you, and His vengeance be wrought upon your enemies.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
